Jamie LidellFunk-soul botherer Jamie Lidell is a sometime electronic deviant and one half of UK techno studs Super_Collider. He is also a libertine whose machine-skewed R&B has affirmed him as an upcoming, funk-struck soul star.
Lidell's assault on the soul constellation was discharged via 2005's Multiply (Warp) – a furious union of deep soul, smouldering grooves and technical trickery – and his brand new upcoming excursion, 'Jim', is set to further attest his stance in the canon: think Prince, Sly Stone, and 70s soul divas – underpinned with jabbering riffs and electro grooves.
The bountiful charms of Lidell and his backing band beg to be relished in the flesh: expect a prodigious mix of flipped-out electronica, curveball funk and clambering soul.
