SebadohHark! For herein swagger lo-fi, alt-rock overlords Sebadoh! Fronted by one-time Dinosaur Jr mainspring Lou Barlow, (whose treasured extra-curricular endeavours include the Folk Implosion and Sentritoh), Sebadoh hung loose on the frontlines of a slacker-rock vanguard that also counted Pavement, Beck and Guided By Voices among its champs.
Formed in Massachusetts in 1986, Sebadoh’s intoxicating output spans psychedelic fuzz-outs, experimental noise, introverted folk and kamikaze rock – as evinced on such imperative albums as ‘The Freed Man’ (1988), ‘Sebadoh III’ (1991), and ‘Bubble and Scrape’ (1993) – all of which have recently been re-released on Domino.
It’s hence with great anticipation and excitement that we welcome Sebadoh’s classic triumvirate to Scotland: Barlow, Eric Gaffney and Jason Loewenstein are coolly assured to seduce long-term lovers and curious neophytes alike.
