Having explored and championed underexposed music since punk’s high-strung incursion, the London-born pop guardian has now undertaken the mantle of beats and breaks majesty, as attested via her weekly BBC Radio 1 show, and indeed her recent arresting compilations – ‘Annie On One’, and ‘Y4K: Annie Nightingale Presents’. An international DJ, broadcaster and professional hedonist, Nightingale has out-partied such hardy dudes as Primal Scream, The Who, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.
